democratic candidate Janelle Stelson released a statement regarding its second-quarter fundraising results.
Former WGAL-TV News Anchor brought in almost $1.34 million from April 1st to June 30th – this number has doubled that total Rep. Scott Perry (R-York) – As two congressmen vie for the 10th Congressional District seat in Cumberland, Dauphin and York counties.
The three-term incumbent raised $623,003.44 in three months, including $5,000 in donations from AIPAC, Freedom First PAC and National Realtors PAC, and has just under $790,000 in hand in the middle of the year.
Stelson, however, has about $1.2 million in the bank as she hopes to oust the former Freedom Caucus chairman. She has received $5,000 in donations from Elect Democratic Women, Emilys LIST PAC, Fair Shot PAC, IBEW PAC, Keystone America PAC and other professional union political action committees.
In a June Franklin & Marshall College poll, Perry had a slim 45-44 percent lead over Stelson. Those numbers were significantly different because the poll was conducted during the former president’s hush money trial Donald Trump. Pre-verdict sampling showed Perry leading 49-42% outside a margin of error of +/-6.1%. Post-verdict pollsters favored Stelson 47-39%.
This will be one of the most closely watched races not only in the Commonwealth but across the country as Republicans seek to maintain their majority in the House of Representatives.
