Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump will descend on Philadelphia on Tuesday for the highly anticipated presidential debate, and a South Jersey native will co-moderate the event.
Tuesday’s debate at the National Constitution Center comes after weeks of back-and-forth between the Harris and Trump campaigns. Last week, both candidates agreed to a set of guidelines that include muting their microphones when not speaking and keeping the live audience out of the event.
The moderator of the debate organized by ABC will be: World news tonight Editor-in-Chief and Presenter David Muir and World news on Sunday evening presenter Linsey Davis of Moorestown in Burlington County.
The debate will be the first between Harris and Trump. It is also the first since CNN’s June debate between Trump and President Joe Biden, whose disastrous performance ultimately contributed to his decision not to seek reelection and led to Harris becoming the Democratic nominee.

Who is Linsey Davis?
Davis is 1995 graduate of Moorestown Friends School. who grew up in Moorestown and Medford. She went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Virginia and a master’s degree in communications from New York University. But South Jersey “still feels like home,” she told SJ magazine in 2019.
Moorestown Friends School, she said in an interview, was where she became interested in journalism. As a student, she participated in a program in which she and her classmates went to the KYW studios in Philadelphia and participated in a broadcast.
After stints at ABC station WJRT-TV in Flint, Michigan, and NBC affiliate WTHR-TV in Indianapolis, Davis joined ABC’s NewsOne in 2007 as a correspondent based in New York. She then worked for many of the network’s flagship programs – in this 20/20, Good morning AmericaAND Night line — before he was appointed presenter World news on Sunday evening in 2021, Davis is also a presenter of the ABC streaming show ABC News Live PrimeShe took over this role just before the outbreak of the pandemic in 2020.

Who is David Muir?
Born in Syracuse, NY, Muir is a 1995 graduate of Ithaca College who began his journalism career at Syracuse-based CBS WTVH-TV in the mid-1990s. He then worked at Boston-based ABC-based WCVB until 2003.

Muir has won four Emmy Awards and received a total of 25 nominations, according to his IMDb page.
What are the rules of debate?
ABC released a list of agreed-upon rules for Tuesday’s debate last week. Harris and Trump will get two minutes of question time; two minutes for rebuttals; and an additional minute for follow-ups, clarifications and responses.
Additionally, Trump and Harris will not be able to ask each other questions.
ABC said the debate is expected to last 90 minutes, with two commercial breaks. Neither candidate will make an opening statement, and closing statements will be confined to two minutes.

ABC will broadcast the debate live from 9pm, and the live stream will be available via ABC News Live, Disney+ and Hulu. Viewers can also watch the debate on the ABC website and the ABC app on their smartphone, tablet or computer.
