Trump returns to Pennsylvania on Wednesday for events in Scranton and Reading

After Saturday’s rally in Butler, the site of the July assassination attempt, former President Donald Trump will return to Pennsylvania later this week, his campaign said. Trump, the Republican Party’s presidential nominee, will “give a speech” on Wednesday afternoon at Riverfront Sports in Scranton, President Joe Biden’s birthplace. Trump will then travel to Reading for an evening rally at the Santander Arena.

Biden narrowly defeated Trump in Lackawanna County, where Scranton is located, in the 2020 presidential election, with Hillary Clinton taking over district in 2016, but not by a significant margin of 50.2% to Trump’s 46.7%. Trump won Berks County, where Reading is located Both elections.

Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic presidential nominee, are campaigning at events across Pennsylvania with their goal of winning the commonwealth’s 19 electoral votes. This intense focus is likely to raise as the race enters its final weeks.

On Thursday, former President Barack Obama will rally in Pittsburgh for Harris’ campaign, the first stop in the Democratic primary.

Harris will appear on 60 Minutes on Sunday night. Trump was also scheduled to be interviewed on CBS News, but the network reported that he canceled the appearance; the campaign stated that consent to withdraw was not formalized. Both campaigns are running neck-and-neck in Pennsylvania.
