Trump plans rally in Wilkes-Barre on Saturday

Former president Donald Trump He will travel back to the Commonwealth on Saturday, where he plans to deliver a speech in Wilkes-Barre.

Trump will host the event at Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza. It starts at 4 p.m., with doors opening at noon.

It will be the former presidentā€™s second visit to the Keystone State since the July 13 assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania. Trump held a rally in Harrisburg on July 31 at the New Holland Arena at the Farm Show Complex.

Since the Republican National Convention ended on July 18, he has held just five campaign rallies, including two in Pennsylvania.

ā€œI think itā€™s fair to ask why Trump isnā€™t doing more events,ā€ said one GOP strategist, who asked not to be identified. Hill“He’s not young himself. He’ll have to try harder.”

He explained his general absence from key states by saying that he was ā€œleading by a significant margin, and also because it allows their convention to happen,ā€ referring to the Democratic National Convention, which doesnā€™t begin until Aug. 19. ā€œAnd Iā€™m doing a lot of campaigning.ā€

On Monday evening at 8:00 p.m. ET, Trump will be interviewed live by entrepreneur Elon Musk on his social media site X.

Similar events on the platform were plagued by technical issues ā€“ the most renowned of which was Florida Governor Ron DeSantis‘ introduction of the president. The hour-long interview was supposed to be DeSantis’ formal campaign launch, but the audio was missing for an extended period of time and thousands of users were unable to join the interview or were removed.
