Twice as good for Republicans Tim DeFoor.
The incumbent State Auditor General won a second term in Harrisburg after defeating a Democratic state Representative Malcom Kenyatta51-46%.
DeFoor won 60 of the Commonwealth’s 67 counties, recording a triumph of 363,000 votes. Just like the attorney general-elect Dave’s Sundayhe managed to bring home Republicans who voted Governor Josh Shapiro in the 2022 gubernatorial race, turning Bucks, Center, Erie, Lehigh and Northampton counties red again.
Kenyatta was only able to provide plurals in Allegheny, Chester, Dauphin, Delaware, Lackawanna, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties. Six of those leads were reduced by seven or more points compared to Shapiro’s victory two years ago. Only Dauphin County was able to maintain a seven-point lead (6.5%) in 2022.
Here’s an interactive map showing DeFoor’s margins across the state. Totals are unofficial until confirmed by the State Department.
