The National Fair Housing Month celebrates the adoption of the Fair Housing Act, national law, which prohibits discrimination in sales, renting and financing of housing based on a race, color, national origin, religion and gender. The Act was adopted in 1968 and amended in 1988 to protect the protection of disabled people and families with children.
