Philadelphia – – February 13, 2025 -After suited the governor of Josh Shapiro questioning the unconstitutional freezing by Trump’s administration by federal financing, democratic senator Christine tartlione (D-Liladelphia), issued the following statement:
“I fully support the Governor’s decision Shapiro to undertake legal proceedings against unconstitutional freezing of the Trump administration. Pennsylvania is guilty of billions in dollars approved by congresses, which support critical programs-water, relief in energy costs, creation of jobs and many others. These funds are not political negotiating systems; They are a lifeguard line for our communities.
Despite many court rulings ordering the exemption of these funds, the Trump administration refused to comply with, leaving our community, which raises the bill for the necessary projects, while Washington plays with our future. This is unacceptable. Our state agencies cannot effectively plan, invest or provide services when financing is arbitrarily cut off without explanation.
Shapiro governor does exactly what is necessary – he designates to Pennsylvania and fights to ensure that we will receive resources that we were promised. I stand with him in this fight and I will continue to talk to our communities, employees and our families to make sure that Pennsylvania will gain a fair participation. “
