Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic presidential candidate, will campaign in Pennsylvania on Wednesday, part of a trip to key battleground states that will include visits to Arizona and Nevada.
Harris’ campaign did not disclose details about Wednesday’s visit, but Reuters reported on Sunday that that he is expected to outline modern economic policies this week at an event in Pittsburgh.
The vice president’s route includes Rust Belt and Sun Belt states that are among her campaign’s possible paths to victory in November. Pennsylvania, with its 19 electoral votes, is essentially a must-win for Harris and her Republican opponent, former President Donald Trump.
Harris campaigned last week in two areas of Pennsylvania that have tended to lean red in recent presidential elections. On Sept. 13, she visited miniature businesses in Johnstown and held a rally in Wilkes-Barre in Luzerne County, which Trump won by 15 points in 2020 and by nearly 20 points in 2016.
A Democratic presidential candidate has not won Cambria County, where Johnstown is located, since 2008, when Barack Obama defeated John McCain. Mitt Romney defeated Obama there in 2012, and Trump won Cambria County in 2016 and 2020.

But the approach is in line with Harris campaign focuses on winning over Republicans who may be reluctant to vote for Trump again. She has he gained support from prominent Republican Party names, including former congresswoman Liz Cheney of Wyoming and former Vice President Dick Cheney.
Since Harris launched her campaign in July, volunteers and campaign organizers have knocked on about 600,000 doors in the three key battleground states she will visit this week and made more than 13.5 million phone calls, according to the campaign.
Trump will visit Pennsylvania on Monday, where he will attend an event in Smithton organized by the Protecting America Initiative and an evening rally at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
Vice presidential candidates Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz and U.S. Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio) campaigned Saturday in eastern Pennsylvania.
The latest polls show that Harris with a miniature lead over Trump in Pennsylvania.
