State Rep. Malcolm Kenyatta, a close Biden ally, says of president’s departure: ‘I am devastated’
State Rep. Malcolm Kenyatta, a Democrat representing North Philadelphia and a close Biden ally who chairs a presidential advisory commission, said he was “heartbroken” by Biden’s decision to withdraw.
In an at-times tearful interview Sunday afternoon, Kenyatta — who campaigned with Biden across the country and has forged a close relationship with the president and members of his family — said he respected the president’s decision and would support Vice President Kamala Harris.
