Charlie Alexander, a right -wing activist who ran for the Delaware Council without the party’s support, was removed from the May GOP voting in May, which basically ended GOP Primary for two fines of the Council of Fore.
On Thursday, Alexander told Inquirer in an interview that the deelaware deelaware judge George Pagano ruled on Thursday that Alexander’s name could not appear in the basic vote on May 20.
Pagano ruled in favor of three Republicans of Delaware, who questioned Aleksander’s candidacy at the beginning of this week, arguing that he did not qualify for the office, because he did not make a statement on financial interests in the office of the Delaware Ferry official in March 12.
State law requires all candidates to submit statements on financial interests to the local ruling authority before the date of submitting a petition for applying for the office. Candidates must also attach these forms to petitions that they submit to the Electoral Council of the Fountains.
According to the challenge, brought by GOP voters, including the former chairman of the Glenolden Council, Tom Danzi, Aleksander joined the financial form to his petitions, but he did not submit him with the deelaware clerk.
Alexander said he was going to appeal against the decision and conducted a writing campaign if he was unable to recover his name voting.
The political novice, Aleksander, became lively last year, when he began to distribute unjustified theories about undocumented immigrants in Delaware and accusing the controlled council of the Democratic Council secret planning of porting undocumented immigrants.
Alexander decided to launch without support GOP last month, introducing long -term basic foundations against approved candidates of the parties of former councilors Darby, Brian Burke and former employee of Liz Piazza.
On the heels of a 23% escalate in real estate tax in the county last year, Republicans perceive 2025 as a key opportunity to regain representation in a five -person council This currently consists of Democrats. Republican candidates will face the current councilor Richard Womack and the County controller Joanne Phillips, who does not work in the basic democratic.
But during the May basic fight of the party were eternal. One of the first approved party candidates withdrew from the race after the criticism of other Republicans. Meanwhile, Aleksander persistently criticized the Republican establishment and insisted on Thursday that the petition against him was a sign that the party leaders were afraid of his candidacy.
“I think it is a bad will of the GOP of Delaware to get rid of voters in Delaware,” said Alexander.
