Forward Party Puts Couple on Pennsylvania Ballot

Two more names were added to the commonwealth’s general election ballot as the Forward Party gained access to ballots for its candidates statewide.

Montgomery County Eric Settle and Allegheny Counties Chris Foster will be placed on the November ballot for attorney general and state treasurer, respectively.

Settle served as deputy general counsel to the former Governor Tom Ridgeand also serving on Governor Josh Shapiro transition team. A graduate of Harriton High School and Colgate University, he was president of the Main Line Reform Temple, a board member of Colgate University, Bryn Mawr Rehabilitation Hospital, and the Endowment Corporation of the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia.

“As a seasoned attorney with experience at the highest levels of state government, I have seen how legacy parties are more interested in promoting their own interests than the interests of the people, and I know we can do better,” Settle said. “That is the goal of the Forward Party — to ensure that the people are truly represented in government. By voting for me, along with Chris Foster, Pennsylvanians will send a strong message that these state government officials should be neutral judges, calling the shots and calling the shots, not issuing orders for partisan purposes.”

“The level of partisanship is approaching pre-Civil War levels, and the upcoming election is likely to deepen that sentiment even further,” he said. Andrew Yangco-chair of the national Forward Party. “While Forward is not involved in the presidential race, we believe it is critical to our mission to promote candidates in the lower elections who can rise above the fray and serve their communities.

“That’s why I’m thrilled that Eric Settle will be representing Forward on the ballot in November. It’s important that Pennsylvania’s chief legal officer and law enforcement officer stands above the fray, concerned only with the rule of law and the people of the Commonwealth, not fighting for partisan agendas that leave Pennsylvanians behind.”

Foster, a graduate of Marist University, is a Pittsburgh native and entrepreneur who has worked as a tennis player and real estate agent.

“Fully and honestly tracking citizens’ money to ensure it’s being spent to improve their communities is the Treasurer’s job, but Republicans and Democrats continue to turn that office into a political football,” said party co-chair Christie Todd Whitman“Pennsylvania deserves a truly independent Treasurer, and Chris Foster will have just that.

“I was on the ground collecting signatures in Pennsylvania, and it’s clear that people are ready for new and better options. I couldn’t be more excited to be part of a movement that is working to give American voters those options.”

National Forward CEO Lindsey Drath He said it was volunteers and donors from across the Commonwealth that made it possible for Settle and Foster to access the ballot.

“Ultimately, they submitted far more signatures than the law required and heard directly from many thousands of voters that they wanted more and better choices than those offered by Republicans and Democrats.”
