DNC Releases Attack Billboards Tying Trump to Project 2025

The Democratic National Committee is rolling out billboards that link former President Donald Trump to his controversial Project 2025 political platform. The billboards will be displayed in English and Spanish in Philadelphia and other cities in key battleground states.

Trump said he is is not related to the plancreated by the conservative Heritage Foundation that would vastly expand the president’s powers and restructure the federal government. Several former members of the Trump administration were involved in crafting the document that Democrats have been trying to highlight.

“They know that when the American people hear about Project 2025, they don’t support it,” DNC spokeswoman Rosemary Boeglin said in a statement. “The DNC will not let them do that.”

The billboards will go up a day before Trump is scheduled to campaign at a rally in Butler, north of Pittsburgh. It’s his first campaign stop in western Pennsylvania since a July 2023 visit to Erie. The Republican National Convention begins next week in Milwaukee, where Trump will be formally nominated as the GOP presidential candidate in 2024.

Latest polls indicates that Trump has an advantage of 3.3% over Biden in Pennsylvania. Biden tried to allay concerns about his ability to do the job after a impoverished debate performance just two weeks ago.
