Former state auditor general Eugene DePasquale and York County District Attorney Dave’s Sunday won convincing victories in their primary elections for Pennsylvania Attorney General.
DePasquale finished first in a five-candidate race by 160,000 votes in the Democratic race, while Sunday defeated his Republican opponent Craig Williams a convincing difference of 360,000 votes.

“I’m glad that people across Pennsylvania are accepting and believing that accountability and redemption is what we need,” Sunday said at a victory celebration in York. “We need to hold people accountable. You have to have responsibility. But on the other hand, we must embrace redemption as a society. If communities are not safe, nothing else matters.”
Acting Attorney General of Pennsylvania Michelle Henrywho was appointed to this position by Governor Josh Shapiro after leaving office to become governor, he did not seek re-election.
The Office of the Attorney General has a budget of approximately $120 million annually and plays a key role in arresting drug traffickers, combating gun trafficking, defending state laws in court and protecting consumers from predatory practices.
