Before Pennsylvania Stops, Harriz-Walz Campaign Heads to Raleigh; Trump-Vance in Milwaukee

Before their scheduled appearances in Pennsylvania this weekend, Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump plan to visit North Carolina and Wisconsin on Friday.

Democrat Harris is expected to speak at a campaign event in Raleigh on Friday, marking her eighth visit to the state this year. Details of the event have not yet been announced, but Harris will reportedly focus on politics at the rally, with the discussion expected to center on her administration’s plan to “lower costs for middle-class families and address corporate price gouging,” The Hill reports.

The stop makes up for the cancellation of a scheduled flight to North Carolina last week that was postponed due to the effects of Tropical Storm Debby. It also comes after an expected appearance in Prince George’s County, Maryland, on Thursday with President Joe Biden, marking the first joint campaign stop for Harris and Biden since Biden announced he was dropping out of the presidential race last month.

Meanwhile, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz continues his first solo tour of five battleground states since being announced as Harris’ running mate. Walz was scheduled to appear in Newport, RI and South Hampton, NY Thursday.

The Harris-Walz ticket will return to Pennsylvania on Sunday for a bus tour of Pittsburgh that is expected to include several stops in the western Keystone State. The tour will take place the day before the Democratic National Convention begins in Chicago and will also include appearances by Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff and Minnesota First Lady Gwen Walz, the first of its kind for the campaign.
