A former member of the Bobby City Council Henon, who has recently been released from the federal prison after hearing time for public corruption allegations, works as a union electrician at the Congress Center.
This is a moment for Henon, who was an electrician earlier in his career and eventually got up in the union of the Union to become a political director of the influential international brotherhood of Local 98.

This concert led to winning Henon’s place of the City Council of Philadelphia in 2011. But this also led to his fall in 2021, when he and the long -time job leader John J. Dougherty were convicted of federal allegations of bribery. Prosecutors accused Henon of giving Dougherta auction, commonly known as “Johnny Doc”, at the same time serving in the council in exchange for trade union remuneration in the amount of USD 70,000, which Henon collected along with remuneration from the city. Ultimately, the jury agreed, condemning Henon in 10 cases, including conspiracy, bribery and truthful fraud.
“I tried to help every Philadelphia, especially those who were sensitive and in need – please, I never took the day off,” said Henon during the interrogation in the judgment in 2023. “At the first interest of my relationship, I disappointed you.”
“Bobby Henon is still a member paying the IBEW LOCAL 98 contributions and, like any other member, has the right to get his own work,” said Lynch Jr., who replaced Dougherty as a Union business manager in a statement. “I can confirm that he is currently working as an electrician at the Congress Center.
Henon is not the only member of the Electrician Council in the recent history of Philadelphia, who was convicted of corruption fees and looking for a job as an electrician after dismissal. Rick Mariano, who represented the 7th district in the years 1996–2006, also began as an electrician and tried to return to the original profession after leaving prison. Mariano, however, told journalists that he tried to find an electrician’s work after the Inculary.
Attempts to reach Henon failed on Tuesday. He represented the 6th district from North Eastern Philadelphia from January 2012 to January 2022 and was seen as a rising star in Philly’s democratic policy, as long as he and Dougherty were accused in 2019.
Henon was released last month from the federal prison in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania to take the rest of his 3.5 years of sentence at home in Philadelphia halfway. Dougherty, who was convicted in a separate trial of the contradictory EU funds and sentenced to six years last summer, is in prison in Lewisburg.
