Turning to the destruction of private equity on healthcare: Senator Cappelletti joins the American House Commission for Democrat Veterans for the Round Table discussion

Washington, DC – – September 10, 2025 -Amanda M. Cappelletti (D-17 Montgomery/Delaware) joined the Pennsylvania.

The committee hosted Senator Cappelletti and several other experts for public policy and public health from all over the country in response to the Republican administration in Washington’s constant efforts in favor of programs and services that provide health care for veterans and civilians in the USA. The conversation focused on the impact of health care based on profit on the quality of veterans’ care and how the property of private equity in the field of social care affects the quality and availability of healthcare.

“Unfortunately, far too many of our communities are devastated by the harmful effects of private equity for health care” Senator Cappelletti said during the discussion at the Round Table. “These corporate interests prioritize to profit from patients, which leads to closing hospitals, reduce services and reduced access to care – especially in underestimated and rural areas.”

During the conversation, Senator Cappelletti got in Destroying the closing of the Crozer healthcare system After Prospect Medical Holdings purchased the network in 2016. After nine years of financial turmoil, Private Equity was applied on Crozer, Crozer Hospital was finally closed in May 2025, leaving thousands of residents without access to local medical services.

“While the closing of the Crozer healthcare system was a loud, destructive example of the ability of private equity and open readiness to destroy local healthcare systems, this is only one example of a disturbing pattern that we see throughout the country” Dream. Sid Capothts.

In response to the growing negative impact on the healthcare systems in the community, Senator Cappelletti cooperates with his colleagues in Pennsylvania in the Senate Democratic Club for a legislative package, which would provide a balanced solution and implement the necessary security to protect the Pennsylvanians access to care.

Senate bills 320IN 321AND 322 appropriately:

  • Prevent having or managing hospital or caring entities focused on profit in Pennsylvania,
  • Set minimum standards regarding notifications and severance pay for mass exemptions, and
  • Create supervision through the Office of the Prosecutor General.

The BILLS 320 and 321 Senate currently expect voting in Senate committees controlled by Republican committees. House version of Senate Bill 322 – Bill House 1460 – a house in Pennsylvania has passed and gained double -sided support from both chambers. Currently, he is waiting for voting in the Senate Committee for Sustainable Development and Innovation.

“We know if these bills will become the law, we will have tools needed to prevent more hospital closures and ensure that Pennsylvanians have access to the critical care they need, but have all the right to receive” Dream. Sid Capothts. “Because the healthcare system, which priority treats patients against the interest of private equity, is the basis of a healthy community and I will do everything in my power to make healthy communities a reality for every Pennsylvania.”
