President Donald Trump wants to add Siena College to its lawsuit against the New York Times, stating in a social media post that the Times/Siena poll “is always extremely negative to me.”
Trump, who has been filing almost constant lawsuits against media organizations since the beginning of his second term, also called the results “false” and said Siena would be “held fully accountable for all lies and wrongdoings of the radical left.”
Questionnaire, conducted by the Siena Research Institute (SRI) for the New York Times.examined 1,625 registered votes and was in the field from January 12 to 17.
Only 40 percent of respondents approved of the job Trump is doing in office, and 56 percent disapproved of the minus-16 favorability rating. More than half (55 percent) said 2025 was a failure rather than a success, and nearly 50 percent (49 percent) said the country was worse off today than it was a year ago.
“Most say the country is in a worse situation than a year ago and that the country’s economy has gotten worse rather than better,” said SRI executive director Don Levy.
“50-46% of voters approve of the job Trump is doing at the U.S.-Mexico border, and 50-47% support his administration’s deportations of immigrants living in the U.S. illegally. However, a majority currently disapprove of the way Trump is handling immigration, and nearly two-thirds, 63%, disapprove of the way ICE is handling its job,” Levy said. “Sixty-one percent of Americans, including 19% of Republicans, think ICE’s tactics have gone too far.”
After posting the above, Trump posted two more posts.
