Harrisburg, but – – May 22, 2025 – This morning Republicans in the American House of Representatives adopted a budget law, which will cause 15 million Americans to lose health insurance, and 3 million American families lost access to fit food.
Democratic Senate leader Jay Costa (D-Allegheny) and the chairman of the Senate Democratic appropriation of Vincent Hughes (D-D-Miladelphia/Montgomery) published the following statement in response to the embarrassing republican movement, tax fraud:
“Republicans of the Congress Chamber adopted provisions that will hurt Pennsylvania, Pennsylvania community and Pennsylvania’s economy, only to reduce taxes for ultra -rich America.
From a minute of Republicans, they have announced a plan to reduce trillion dollars in federal expenses to finance their tax reductions, it is legislators throughout the country, including the US, alarm was sounded about the influence that the cuts would have at Pennsylvania’s families and Pennsylvania’s budget. Republicans say they save money, but it is not. They simply push the costs of these programs to countries that do not have financial resources to fill in the hole, which they introduce to the state budgets.
Do not make a mistake, the so -called “large, beautiful bill” is a great disaster for Pennsylvania, and the rural Pennsylvania will probably see the destructive consequences. However, our Republican colleagues from the Senate were and remained mute, apparently afraid to speak for their voters.
Selected senators and representatives of Pennsylvania, both Republicans and Democrats, are required to condemn the cut in this project. The time has come for our Republican colleagues to speak. Time to join Democrats, calling on the influence of these cuts on Pennsylvania’s families and community. At this critical inflection point, every Pennsylvania legislator should cooperate to stop these cuts, regardless of belonging to our party.
This morning, 215 Congress Republicans voted for the greatest limitation of healthcare in history. 10 of these Republicans represent Pennsylvania. These 10 representatives sold out Pennsylvania to reduce taxes for billionaires. The silence of our republican colleagues says he says a lot. “
