McKees Rocks – September 16, 2025 – Today, Nick Miller, chairman of the Senate Politics Committee, carried out a hearing to examine price affordability and search for solutions to a growing problem in Pennsylvania.
“Housing certainty is still the main problem in Pennsylvania,” he said Senator Miller. “I understand that there is no single size of response to the housing crisis affecting our region and outside. However, as a community, we have the opportunity to conduct a conversation and present our involvement in available and independent apartments for members of our community, enabling people to stay in their homes and enjoy the freedom of comfortable life.”
“Every family who calls a house in Pennsylvania deserves a safe, inexpensive place to live and create memories,” he said Democratic Senate Costa leader. “The Senate Democrats were focused on laser in the scope of implementing this basic value, working in the transition to provide working families with tools, financing and protection they need to secure the sheltered house they can afford.
“Too many Pennsylvania is forced to choose the rent between paying and satisfying other basic needs,” he said Senator Pisciottano. “This lack of inexpensive apartments stops families, employees and employers throughout our community of nations and we must develop real solutions to ensure our communities, and our economy could develop.”
“I am grateful with today’s certificates for emphasizing the need for more paths to inexpensive home,” he said Senator Williams. “Corporate greed made so many Pennsylvanians because owners from outside the state buy real estate in once inexpensive districts. Everyone deserves a safe and inexpensive home where you can live, and I can’t wait to cooperate with my colleagues over politics, which will make the owner of the house more possible to achieve.”
“Increasing the availability of inexpensive apartments is the key to the growth and competitiveness of Western Pennsylvania,” he said Senator Fontana. “We have several tools to deal with price affordability in our region, and today’s interrogation illustrated the importance of all levels of the government’s work with our partners based on community to use them effectively.”
Jason Tigano, founder and general director: capital building (level), explained long -term solutions that he identified with his organization.
“As you know, the high -quality affordable prices of the home owner is one of the biggest challenges of our nation. Strong communities start with stable inhabitants who are invested in their districts,” he said Tigan. “The level is a long -term solution to create a path for hard -working Pennsylvania to achieve an American dream of having your own home.”
Tigano stated in his testimony: “The level prepares communities, house owners and houses. We will make inexpensive home properties to ensure generational stability and prosperity for districts and those who live in them in them.”
Rich Stephenson, executive director of Alegheny County Housing Authority, provided insight into the inexpensive housing landscape and ongoing initiatives in Allegheny.
