Thursday evening was “The Late Show with Josh Shapiro”, when Pennsylvania’s governor hit the Talk circumference with delayed in the evening to CBS.
Shapiro was a guest of “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” and talked about arson in the governor’s residence, why Pennsylvanians who support President Donald Trump Support him also and shared the story of the only election he has ever lost.
The governor told about the details of the April incident in which the residence was set on fire, but also shared with Colbert, what Lori and his wife discovered after the consequence.
“Because this moment was so dark [we] I found a lot of light on the days after Pennsylvania – Shapiro remembered. “I am a prayer, but I have never had people who prayed for me. Shapiro, who won the election to the governor’s residence in 2022 by 15 points above the Republican Doug MastrianoHe shared with Colbert, why he thinks he connected with those who could also vote for Trump.
“These are good people,” he said. “They are people who, honestly were frustrated over time because they saw the government simply not solve problems for them. They saw too many people who receive an unfair advantage.
“I appear in their communities where democrats often do not go, especially in our rural areas. I am not only listening to them. I learn from them. [Then] I come back and deliver them. “
Colbert, whose series was unceremoniously canceled by the owner of Paramount last week, asked the former prosecutor general what he heard from these voters.
“I think that what they saw in me is someone who will give up about them,” said Shapiro. “He treats them with respect. They saw me as someone who can cut and solve their problems.
“I appeared in rural areas where Donald Trump appeared and undertook not to cut off people from Medicaid,” he continued. “Therefore, the first great thing (he is) cut off 310,000 Pennsylvania with Medicaid with this project, including 154,000 in communities that voted for him.”

Shapiro also noticed the difference in supporting law enforcement agencies.
“We both ran with the support of the local police. What did I do? I hired more police. We reduced the crime by 30% in Pennsylvania. What did Donald Trump do? Literally his first official action was to pardon people who attacked the cops on January 6.
“What Donald Trump did with Vlad will turn away from the communities that voted for him. He abandoned them and worsened their lives. Every day I focus on improving their lives.”
Shapiro has a flashy record when applying for the office. For the first time elected to Pennsylvania State House in 2004 he was elected to the Council of Montgomery Ferriers in 2011, the Prosecutor General in 2016 and the governor in 2022. Colbert asked if he had ever lost the election.
The governor did not hesitate.
“Certainly yes. In the 11th grade,” he remembered. “I tried to impress the girl, so I thought that maybe I was applying for the student council and I would impress her. I promised to put the soda into the machine or whatever I promised … I ran and finally I finished the dead. I didn’t impress the girl.”

But Shapiro noticed that he eventually got a girl and he was married to his wife Lori for 28 years.
Colbert asked how the governor’s interest began, and Shapiro admitted that he initially wanted to become a doctor and NBA player.
The host chuckled, saying: “I think you were torn between a doctor and NBA.”
Shapiro replied: “I thought I could do both.”
When none of them was materialized, he answered the request to apply for the student government at the University of Rochester.
“I fell in love with the service of others,” he said. “Looking back, the way my people brought me up, the way my faith taught me about the service for others. I underestimated it in Rime, but I think I continue the path that was set for me. Just in a different way.”
