Governor Josh Shapiro He says that the next great test of national security for the country is artificial intelligence and that Pennsylvania may and will be a leader in the American race compared to China.
Speaking of “Squawk Box” CNBC, the governor discussed the Monday announcement that Amazon would invest $ 20 billion for creating an inventive campus AI in the Commonwealth.
“It is important to remember that this is only the initial investment from Amazon, so it will develop,” said Shapiro Host Joe Kernan. “Pennsylvania will be better. I think that America will be better because we will win the battle for Supremacja AI and it will be done here in the Pennsylvania Commonwealth.”
Shapiro said that he predicted the creation of about 10,000 jobs in construction and about 12150 lasting jobs in the first two facilities in Luzerne and Bucks. He pointed out that the state did not provide Amazon with any funds.
“We created a nexus between our social universities in the area, our secondary schools in the area, to be able to train students so that they could go directly in these facilities AI. It actually invests in working force.”
“I was loosely in Amazon people who give this advertisement,” he continued. “This is a community that has been hollowed out in time, which desperately was the creation of jobs, and we delivered it yesterday, and it was only one of the places we announced. Now it is important to make sure that we give skills to those who live in Luzeralne, love the Luzeral Flazch so that they can stay in the community, which we love, and they can do it.”
The governor also presented what he considers the next race between the USA and China.
“Will we win the Battle of Supreation AI or will we see the ground to China?” he asked. “I do not want to convey anything communist China. I want to win here in America. And the way we win here in America is the hands of Pennsylvania workers, as we did in the whole story.”
Shapiro was also asked about the two most often talked about the issues of the day-non-virgin in Los Angeles and anti-Semitism at university campus.
“Violence has no place in our communities, a dot. Not if and but, there must be order in communities. And by the way, you may have order and you can still allow a peaceful protest. This is an American way.
“I am very, very seriously approaching the leading role I held in Pennsylvania of the State Police, and that I am the commander of the National Guard in Pennsylvania. I put our guards, people here within Pennsylvania, after saying, say a natural catastrophe, they do a great job. You know that we were involved in both federal and state operations.
Shapiro also spoke about his fears of war of words between President Donald Trump and California GAVIN GAVIN Newsom.
“I think that this is also not helpful when the leaders of the federal government and the state government indicate their fingers. I think that what we have to do is to lower the temperature, stop pointing fingers, make sure that people who have skills that have skills that have the ability to restore peace, order and cope with violence, are those on the first lines.”
The governor also said that he continued his conversations J. Larry JamesonPresident of the University of Pennsylvania, about the work of institutions on providing a campus free from violence powered by anti -Semitic.
“I think they have introduced many improvements from the place where they were before,” he said. “It is extremely critical that every student in the campus, regardless of how they look, from where they come from, who they love, who they pray to, he has the ability to go to classes, reach a room in the dormitory, and also participate in the life of a campus free from violence, free from threats. It is both legal responsibility here in real pennsylvania and the whole country, as well as in moral responsibility.
“I think that some universities got out of the fight, especially last year, and now they are repairing it, and it is important that these amendments were continued. As I said earlier, there is room for peaceful protest in this country. There is no place for violence.”
Shapiro also called on persons authorized to speak against anti -Semitism.
“At this point, the leaders, from governors to the presidents of universities, everyone is obliged to speak and act with moral clarity and widely condemning anti -Semitism. When we do not condemn anti -Semitism, when we do not condemn other forms of hatred and bigoteria, this leads to a kind of political violence that we saw in this country.
“We all have to get up, both Republicans and Democrats, and we condemn voices leading to violence in our politics, our campus, on our streets, our cities and towns. It is not good, and we all have to condemn it, and we do not have to create a place for her, and we do not have to invade political entities.”
