Senator Nick Miller and Rep. Schlossberg commemorate farmers market renovation with official ribbon cutting and on-site services

ALLENTOWN, PA – November 14, 2025 Today, Senator Nick Miller (R-Lehigh/Northampton), along with Representatives Mike Schlossberg (R-Lehigh) and Beverly Gruber, president and CEO of the Lehigh County Agricultural Society, cut the ribbon on up-to-date ADA-accessible doors, floor and bleacher renovations at the fairgrounds and the Allentown Farmers Market. This was made possible by a $250,000 American Rescue Plan Act grant secured by Senator Miller and Representative Schlossberg to facilitate these improvements. Additionally, Senator Miller’s office offered free office hours to assist residents with any state or local issues.

“The Allentown Fairgrounds and Farmers Market are true highlights of the Lehigh Valley.” he said Senator Nick Miller. “My first job was here at this fair, and it taught me the value of having fresh, local food in your neighborhood. These renovations were long overdue, and I’m proud to have worked with Rep. Schlossberg to secure a $250,000 grant to keep the fairgrounds and Allentown Farmers Market accessible and welcoming to all.”

“The Allentown Fairgrounds is a true icon of the Lehigh Valley, and the Allentown Farmers Market is a place visited every week by thousands of people, including seniors, who can walk several blocks to buy fresh food.” said Rep. Mike Schlossberg. “It has been a pleasure to work with Senator Miller to secure funding that will enable people to continue to access this important community space.”

“We are extremely grateful for the financial support.” he said Beverly Gruber, president and CEO of the Lehigh County Agricultural Society, the nonprofit organization that oversees the fairgrounds and fairs. “This has allowed us to complete long-planned improvements, including ADA-accessible doors and an updated floor at the Allentown Fairgrounds Farmers Market, and also supports future investments such as movable bleachers for our events. These improvements are essential to keeping our facilities welcoming and accessible to our community.”

Participants:

Senator Nick Miller, state senator from the 14th district

Rep. Mike Schlossberg, 132ndII District

Beverly Gruber, president and CEO of the Lehigh County Agricultural Society
