Pittsburgh, Pa. – April 10, 2025 – Senator Lindsey M. Williams, a democratic chairman of the Education Senate, issued this statement after the governor of Josh Shapiro announcement that he sued Trump’s administration about the earlier termination of Esser funds for school districts:
“I am grateful to the governor of Shapiro for entering and conducting legal actions on behalf of school districts, students and taxpayers throughout Pennsylvania. These districts consisted of millions of federal dollars to make repairs and improvements for facilities, providing support for mental health for students, buying the necessary supplies and continued working on our students. Public schools in Pittsburg Cruel in the delicate of constant threats to public education and other federal funds that are threatened or cut by the Trump administration.
