Philly da Larry Krasner, who announced that he was taking it for the third term

The District Prosecutor in Philadelphia, Larry Krasner, will start the campaign for the third term on Tuesday, framing his offer as a continuation of his progressive criminal justice policy and introducing himself as a local foil to President Donald Trump.

Krasner, a democrat, twice, who first won the office eight years ago as an external insurgent from the outside, will officially start the Philly Community Access Media campaign, in accordance with the press message. The same place where the former lawyer’s lawyer announced his first run to office before the race in 2017 for the District Prosecutor.

Krasner’s campaign said that the prosecutor wants to continue his progressive policies, including the supervision of a record number of elders and working on limiting crime “during law enforcement agencies closely with partners.”

The announcement was also strongly focused on Trump, describing the president as a “unprecedented threat”, saying that he tried to politicize the Federal Department of Justice and introduces repression about immigrants.

The announcement of the Krasner this week will put an end to one of the worst preserved secrets in local politics. Sources similar to Krasner for months say that he intends to look for the third term, at the end of last year he increased the activities of obtaining funds, and his campaign arm began to sell goods two weeks ago.

Krasner will face the democratic pretender Patrick Dugan, a former judge of the City Court, who presents himself as a more pragmatic alternative to the progressive Krasner. Dugan has already been supported by various politically influential trade unions, including Philadelphia Building Trades & Construction Council.

No other candidate announced the run and it is unlikely to be different. Candidates will start disseminating the petitions to get to vote this week.
