The Democratic National Committee is rolling out a fresh billboard campaign in Pennsylvania on Monday to promote the incoming presidential bid of Vice President Kamala Harris and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz and pit them against Republican Party candidates former President Donald Trump and U.S. Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio).
Billboards in English and Spanish will be displayed in Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, as well as other cities in key states.
“In the final weeks leading up to Election Day, voters across Pennsylvania face a clear choice: a vision for Pennsylvanians that puts working people first, values our rights and freedoms, and helps all communities move forward, or a dark vision that drags us back and puts billionaires above working Pennsylvania families,” DNC spokesperson Addy Toevs said in a statement.
The DNC has used billboards in Pennsylvania and other key battleground states to harangue Trump on policy issues during several campaigns over the past few months. In July, it launched billboards linking Trump to its controversial Project 2025 policy agenda, which would vastly expand presidential powers and restructure the federal government. Trump has said he is has nothing to do with the plan. In April, the DNC placed billboards in Allentown criticizing Trump’s statements on abortion ahead of a Trump campaign rally in the Lehigh Valley.
President Joe Biden dropped his reelection bid last month and endorsed Harris, who officially became the Democratic presidential nominee in a roll call vote of Democratic National Committee delegates on Aug. 6. She announced Walz as her vice presidential candidate last week and introduced him at a rally in Philadelphia.
New Times-Siena poll released over the weekend show Harris leading Trump by four percentage points in the key swing states of Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Michigan.
