Democratic candidate PA-01 Ashley Ehasz debuted its first TV ad this week, titled “Second-Class Citizen.”
A former Iraq War veteran and former Apache helicopter pilot is running for the 1st Congressional District seat, currently held by Republicans. Brian Fitzpatrick.
The six-figure ad buy highlights Ehasz’s experience in the U.S. military. It also highlights Fitzpatrick’s anti-abortion record, including his vote for a national abortion ban.
“For a long time, Brian Fitzpatrick has tried to hide his vote on abortion,” Ehasz said. “But our community deserves to know that their representative is voting against their reproductive rights. I fought in the military to defend our country’s freedoms, and now I proudly stand up to anti-abortion extremists like Brian Fitzpatrick who want to take away our reproductive freedoms.”
The PA-01 election will be one of the most closely watched congressional elections in the commonwealth and represents one of Democrats’ best hopes for regaining a majority in the chamber.

“I am a combat veteran who flew Apaches over Baghdad. I am no stranger to the fight to protect our country’s freedom,
Donald Trump and Brian Fitzpatrick overturned Roe v. Wade to take away these freedoms, and I will not be made a second-class citizen in the country I risked my life to defend.
Brian may not have seen combat, but he’s certainly good at taking marching orders. He even voted to restrict abortion access for women in uniform.
So Brian, whose side are you on?
