Johnstown Trump Campaign’s Next Stop in Pennsylvania

Reinforcing the importance of the Keystone State to his campaign’s presidential hopes, the former president Donald Trump will hold a rally Friday afternoon in Johnstown.

He will arrive at the 4,000-capacity 1st Summit Arena @ Cambria County War Memorial at 4:30 p.m. Doors will open for ticket holders at 12:30 p.m.

This will be the 45th president’s first trip to western Pennsylvania since the July 13 assassination attempt in Butler.

“President Trump knows Pennsylvania cannot stand four more years of the dangerously incompetent and dangerously liberal Kamala Harris,” Trump’s campaign said in a statement announcing the visit. “A Trump-Vance Administration will Make America Great Again by unleashing American drilling to cut energy costs in half, stopping the migrant invasion of our southern border, and restoring America to its rightful standing and respect on the world stage.”

In the past two weeks, Trump also held a rally in Wilkes-Barre and gave a speech on the economy in York.

Johnstown is less than two hours from the Butler shooting, and Cambria County has long been pristinely red. Trump easily outpaced President Joe Biden in a county with a population of more than 131,000 and winning 68 percent of the vote.

The area is one of Trump’s strongholds in Pennsylvania. Cambria County, where Johnstown is located, went solidly Republican in 2020, with Trump winning 68% of the vote to Biden’s 31%.

Trump last visited the Johnstown area during the 2020 campaign.

‘We already know Trump will be robust throughout Cambria County,’ Cambria County Republican Party Chairwoman Says Jackie Kulback he told the Tribune-Democrat“We see him looking for opportunities to make an impact across the state in races like ’72.”

Republicans want to regain control of the state House of Representatives, and their candidate is Amy Bradley“the best chance we had” to remove a long-time government official from power Representative Frank Burns (D-Cambria/Somerset) in the 72nd District, Kulback said.

“Everybody says this area is ‘Trump Country,’ but I think the reason he’s coming here is because he’s not so sure about it anymore,” Cambria County Democratic Party chairwoman said Nina Licastro he said. “Many people are tired of the hatred, lies and deception. They see Kamala as someone who wants to unite us.”
