Hillary Clinton turns to PA. Voters in America in one room Philly Conference

The former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton died deep knowledge about the history of the world, Global Politics, Taiwan’s geography, and even added a little humor during a brief discussion with voters in Pennsylvania on Sunday morning at the Center City Hotel.

“Anyway,” she said laughing after discussing the tariffs of President Donald Trump and their influence on the Chinese and American economy.

Clinton, a candidate for the Democratic President in 2016, was the main speaker in America at One Room/Pennsylvania, a four -day event at Sherraton at North 17th Street, organized by him Democracy Laboratory at Stanford University. Participants, all residents of Pennsylvania, were elected as a representative sample of American voters.

Voters participated in group discussions regarding sophisticated and often controversial issues aimed at supporting the dialogue between the constantly developing political divisions in America. These groups presented the former first lady about half a dozen questions, most of them focused on global conflict, defense compared to diplomacy, foreign assist, China and a infrequent mineral extraction to mention only a few.

Asked how the theoretical Chinese invasion of Taiwan can affect the import of superpower in the world, Clinton said that Trump’s tariffs are already stopping this import.

“We are looking at our economy,” said Clinton. “Our largest port in the country, in Long Beach, is currently largely empty, which means that the impact of these tariffs will be felt in the coming months.

Clinton said that she believes that the United States underestimates the readiness of the Chinese leader XI Jinping to win the import battle.

“He is deeply convinced that he and his people can endure much more suffering than we do,” she said.

A former US senator from New York also discussed the advantages of defense and diplomacy and argued abroad of America’s involvement. Parties in power, she said, must use both tools.

“You must invest in defense,” she said. “There should be no argument, but we need knowledgeable defense.”

There were several references to “my husband”, especially the role of former President Bill Clinton in the end of the two main foreign conflicts: one in Northern Ireland, the other in the Balkans.

“It was diplomacy and military strength,” she said. “He had to bomb Serbia in the Balkans.”

Reducing foreign help and distracting from healthcare, diplomacy and dissemination of democracy in other countries can ultimately lead to reduced America, Clinton told the audience around 200.

“Why, then, did we spend 2% of our budget, doing such things as providing healthcare for people in Africa who suffered from diseases or helped to cope with the challenges related to climate change in another country or promoting democracy? Because we thought it was good for us,” she said. “I mean that this is not all altruistic idealism. If you keep diseases outside your country, it’s good for us.”

Clinton said that withdrawing from diplomacy and taking a hand approach, creates a void for “bad actors” to fill the gaps, and is afraid of the worst scenarios.

“You know, there are people, to be forthright, they say:” Let China control Asia or “Let Russia control Europe. We’ll just stay here.” This is what was said in the 1930s – said Clinton. “It didn’t work very well.”

Clinton said that America should remain a leading example of the world, and she praised voters for participating in discussions.

“I know that we are now in a great battle in our country, because other people have a completely different view, view of dominance and view of power because of power,” she said. “So we have a lot that we have to come up with here.”

Governor Josh Shapiro began America on Thursday evening in one room/event in Pennsylvania.
