Harris-Walz Campaign Heads to Vegas, Trump to Campaign in Montana, Wyoming

Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign will focus on the Southwest on Saturday, while former President Donald Trump’s campaign will remain in the Northwest.

Harris and her vice presidential candidate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, are scheduled to appear at a campaign event in Las Vegas on Saturday, the latest development in a week-long race in key battleground states across the country. Time and location information had not yet been publicly announced as of Friday afternoon.

Like other recent Harris rallies, the Las Vegas event will also feature a musical performance — this time DJ D-Nice from HarlemThe Harris-Walz campaign recently invited musical artists to its rallies, including Megan Thee Stallion and Good Iver.

Saturday’s rally follows a scheduled Friday event at Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona. Harris and Walz kicked off the week of campaigning in Philadelphia, their first public event since announcing the Minnesota governor’s inclusion on the ballot. They later appeared in Michigan and Wisconsin, but postponed scheduled events in Georgia and North Carolina due to the effects of Tropical Storm Debby.

Meanwhile, Trump is scheduled to hold a rally Friday in Bozeman, Montana, to support Republican Senate candidate Tim Sheehy. Trump will remain in the Northwest on Saturday private fundraiser in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.According to Wyoming Public Radio.

The Trump campaign currently has no other publicly scheduled events listed on its events calendar. On Thursday, Trump told reporters at a news conference that he plans to keep a low-key schedule of campaign events in the coming days and will remain that way until the Democratic National Convention ends on Aug. 22.

“President Trump has a packed travel schedule of rallies, messaging events and fundraisers in the coming week. He has more campaign events than [Harris] and Walz put together,” Trump spokesman Steven Cheung told CNBC.

Trump’s vice presidential nominee, Sen. J.D. Vance (R., Ohio), had a fairly active week, though, hitting the same battleground states as the Harris-Walz campaign, including a local stop at the 2300 Arena in South Philadelphia hours before Harris and Walz appeared Tuesday at the Liacouras Center in North Philadelphia.

Trump’s campaign did not announce any additional appearances by Vance on Friday afternoon.
