The former judge of the City Court Patrick Dugan announced on Saturday that he would throw district prosecutor Larry Krasner in parliamentary elections, after he lost the democratic base in May.
Dugan is a registered democrat, but will submit documents to appearing in November as a republican after GOP from Philadelphia organized a writing campaign to recruit him to continue running against Krasner.
“I can’t stand and let Mr. Krasner’s unsuccessful policy still be kept by our hostage of the city,” said Dugan in a message informing about his decision. “Every Philadelphin has a real choice this fall and I believe that they will stand with me for common sense and security.”
Dugan, who previously said that he would not run as a republican, did not immediately answer at the request for further comment.
