1. Legal challenge seeks to prevent RFK Jr. from appearing on Pennsylvania’s presidential ballot

“A motion was filed Thursday to remove presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. from the fall ballot in Pennsylvania, with implications for the tight race in key battleground states between Republican Donald Trump and Democrat Kamala Harris.

The petitioners argue that the nominating papers filed by Kennedy and his vice presidential candidate “at best demonstrate a fundamental disregard” for state law and the signature-gathering process.

It claims Kennedy’s papers contain “numerous unauthorized signatures and defects,” are torn, taped, and contain “handwriting patterns and corrections suggesting that the named voters did not sign these sheets.”PennLive)

ELECTIONS

Former President Donald Trump has recommitted to debating Vice President Kamala Harris on ABC on September 10, after backing away from the idea last week.

During a sporadic news conference at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida, Trump added that he would participate in an additional September 25 debate on NBC with a “pretty full agreement” and reiterated his support for a debate on Fox News on September 4. In his remarks, Trump confused the dates of the ABC and NBC debates, although a spokesman later clarified his comments.Political)

Instead, it’s a chance to cover trends just before the Democratic presidential nomination changes from Joe Biden to Kamala Harris; and to track how this new Harris/Trump race changes or doesn’t change the numbers over the next three months…” (PennCapital-Star)
