“The U.S. Senate race between three-term Democrats Senator Bob Casey and Republican challenger David McCormick will help determine control of the chamber Tuesday in a battleground state contest that is one of the most expensive in the country this year.
Casey, perhaps Pennsylvania’s best-known politician and the son of a former two-term governor, is seeking a fourth term after facing what he called his toughest re-election challenge yet. Casey, 64, is a stalwart of the state Democratic Party who has won six statewide elections since 1996, including serving as state auditor general and treasurer.
McCormick, 59, is running for the Senate for a second time after a narrow defeat Dr. Mehmet Oz in the 2022 Republican primaries. After serving in the former president’s top positions, he left his job as CEO of the world’s largest hedge fund to run it George W. “It has been difficult to follow the disputes over voting rules in Pennsylvania this year, especially over the last two months. Different interpretations of state law have led to different rules from county to county. Court decisions, appeals, more rulings, dismissals, and new lawsuits were filed, sometimes with whiplash from week to week.

“American Ingenuity: Offering freebies in exchange for an “I Voted” sticker is technically illegal. So companies deal with this by offering discounts to everyone on Election Day, Kelly Tyko of Axios writes: :

- Lime is providing free scooter rides to and from the polls with the promo code VOTE2024.
- Krispy Kreme is offering one free glazed donut per guest, and is even throwing in “I Voted” stickers “for those who voted early and want a fresh sticker along with a fresh donut.”
