We caught your attention with that headline, right?
And speaking of which… you can test us out and see for yourself how right we are.
Pennsylvania will hold special elections in the 195th and 201st constituencies on Tuesday, September 17. The special election will cover seats in Donna Bullock AND Stephen Kinsey who gave up their seats earlier this year.
The Commonwealth holds a special election when someone in office can no longer serve. This can happen when someone resigns, dies or is removed from office. Voters must choose someone to replace that person.
Special elections may be held:
- during the general elections
- during the primary elections
- on another day designated by the electoral office
- The county or counties holding a special election must provide the date and location of the special election, as well as the candidates running for office.
- Anyone residing in the district the candidates will represent may vote in the special election.
While the balance of power in Harrisburg depends on the results of the races, neither party pays much attention to Philadelphia districts because Democrats dominate those areas.
