With Vice President Kamala Harris set to speak at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago on Thursday, former President Donald Trump’s campaign will focus on Arizona and Georgia.
Harris will take the stage at Chicago’s United Center on Thursday to formally accept the nomination as the Democratic Party’s presidential candidate. After she accepts, the DNC will end and Harris will return to Washington, the White House said.
Harris and her vice presidential candidate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, have stuck close to Chicago all week, making only one campaign appearance outside the Windy City. That stop Tuesday was in Milwaukee, about 90 minutes from Chicago, where Harris and Walz held a rally at the Fiserv Forum.
But Harris-Walz organizers have set up a series of events across the country throughout the week to support the ticket. On Thursday, for example, the campaign will hold at least 150 watch parties in Pennsylvania as Harris delivers her nomination acceptance speech at the DNC.
Meanwhile, Trump and his vice presidential nominee, Sen. J.D. Vance (R., Ohio), will turn their attention to immigration policy on Thursday. Trump will appear in Cochise County, Arizona, where he will visit the southern border of the United States overdue Thursday morning, his campaign team announced.
Vance will also deliver a speech on immigration and border security. during his own campaign event in Valdosta, Georgia.
Trump will travel to Las Vegas on Friday to a campaign event focusing on the non-taxation of employee tips. It is also scheduled to appear on rally in Glendale, Arizona, later in the day.
