Vice President Kamala Harris will visit Pennsylvania for the first time next Tuesday as the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee. She will be accompanied by her yet-to-be-named vice presidential running mate, Harris’ campaign confirmed.
“Next week, Vice President Harris and her eventual vice presidential running mate will crisscross the country to campaign with voters who will decide the outcome of this election, including a stop in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania,” a Harris campaign representative told the Capital-Star.

Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro is believed to be on Harris’ shortlist to run as vice president, but he declined to comment, referring all questions to the Harris campaign. Former President Donald Trump, the Republican presidential candidate, will be in Harrisburg on Wednesday for his first campaign rally in Pennsylvania since he was wounded in the July 13 attack in Butler. Trump named U.S. Sen. J.D. Vance of Ohio as his vice presidential candidate on July 15, and both have campaigned in key battleground states for the past two weeks.
Vance is not expected to appear at the Harrisburg rally, but GOP U.S. Senate candidate David McCormick, who also attended the Butler rally, will be present. Vance has not campaigned in Pennsylvania since being officially elected vice president.
Politico reported Tuesday that in addition to Philadelphia, Harris will campaign with her vice presidential candidate in Wisconsin, Detroit, Raleigh, Savannah, Phoenix and Las Vegas next week.
