Donald Trump, Kamala Harris and JD Vance have busy campaign schedules

The coming days look set to be busy for the Kamala Harris and Donald Trump campaigns as we enter the first weekend since President Joe Biden announced he would not seek reelection in this year’s presidential race.

Harris, the presumptive Democratic nominee, will reportedly headline a private fundraiser Saturday in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. The event, which will feature musicians like James Taylor, was planned before Biden announced he was dropping out of the race, according to WAMC Northeast Public Radio.

Harris’ husband, second gentleman Doug Emhoff, meanwhile, is scheduled to travel to Wisconsin on Saturday for two events, the White House said. Emhoff will first appear at the Hmong Wausau Festival in Wausau, which celebrates the culture of the Hmong community, as a keynote speaker; the organizers informed on social media.

The White House said Emhoff will later appear at a Harris campaign rally in Stevens Point, Wisconsin.

Although neither Harris nor Emhoff are scheduled to be in Pennsylvania in the coming days, Harris’ campaign will be busy this weekend. Gov. Josh Shapiro is scheduled to kick off the weekend of campaign action with an event in Carlisle, outside Harrisburg, according to The Hill. Shapiro will continue campaigning for Harris on Monday, alongside Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, at an event scheduled for Montgomery County.

Details of the events that unfolded in Carlisle and Montgomery County had not yet been made public Friday.

Trump’s campaign will be We will continue to be just as busy in the coming daysstarting with a rally Saturday in St. Cloud, Minnesota, that will feature both Trump and his vice presidential running mate, Sen. J.D. Vance of Ohio. The event will be held at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center at St. Cloud University, and Trump is scheduled to deliver a speech at about 7 p.m.

Trump will return to Pennsylvania on Wednesday for the first time since surviving the Butler bombing. It is scheduled to take place in Harrisburg at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex, and Trump is scheduled to deliver a speech at 6 p.m.

Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social Friday that he plans to return to Butler for a rally. He said the rally will honor Corey Comperatore, the 50-year-old former fire chief who was killed in the shooting at a Trump rally in Butler on July 13, as well as two other people who were injured. Trump did not provide additional details.

Meanwhile, Vance will make several more appearances in Nevada and Arizona on Tuesday and Wednesday.
