Former President Donald Trump will visit western Pennsylvania for the first time in 2024 on July 13, holding a rally in Butler, two days before the Republican National Convention opens in Milwaukee.
The presumptive Republican Party presidential nominee will be ““highlight the terrible consequences Biden’s dishonest presidency has had on our country,” Trump’s campaign said in a statement.
The event is located about an hour north of Pittsburgh in Butler County, Trump won 65% of the vote in the 2020 election, compared with 33% for President Joe Biden.
The rally will be Trump’s fifth appearance in Pennsylvania this year. He has visited Philadelphia twice; gathering on the campus of Temple University in June and surprise performance at Sneaker Con in February. Also in February, he spoke at the National Rifle Association convention in Harrisburg. And in April he took place gathering in key Lehigh Valley region.
While Times-Siena poll from July 3 conducted after the June 27 presidential debate show Trump widening his lead over Biden nationally, but there aren’t enough polls yet to show that Biden’s unstable debate performance could affect Pennsylvania’s vote total. Before the debate, most polls showed the candidates in a statistical tie in Pennsylvania, where there are 19 electoral votes up for grabs.
Biden will be in Philadelphia on Sunday with first lady Jill Biden for the National Education Association conference. It will be his first appearance since the Keystone State debate. He campaigned in Philadelphia with Vice President Kamala Harris in May, to launch the Black Voters for Biden-Harris initiative.
