D-4 (Montgomery/Philadelphia) Senator Art Haywood once shipped, it likely returns to Harrisburg Mike Cogbill85-15. He will face a Republican Todd Johnson in the fall in the +61 Dem district.
R-20 (Luzerna/Pike/Susquehanna/Wayne/Wyoming) Senator Lisa Baker kept the main challenge from Tyler Meyers55-45 and will face a Democrat Jackie Baker in the general elections in the R+20 constituency.
D-22 (Lackawanna/Luzerna) Senator Marty Flynn easily defeated Jeff Lake69-31 to move on to the fall general election vs. Sharon Soltis Sparano in the D+18 NEPA district.
D-42 (Allegheny) Senator Wayne Fontana knocked down Paweł Steenkiste72-28 to most likely return to Harrisburg because no Republicans have entered the Allegheny County contest.
R-46 (Beaver/Greene/Washington) Senator Bartolotta’s Chamber survived the challenge Al Buchtan53-47 to advance to the fall competition against the Democrat Evan Snyder in an R+15 district in southwestern Pennsylvania.
R-48 (Berks/Lancaster/Lebanon) In what may be the most high-priced General Assembly primary race Senator Chris Gebhard he turned back Clovis Crane67-33. Gebhard has no Democratic rival in November.
Other PA State Senate Primary Elections
D-16 (Bucks/Lehigh) Lehigh County Comptroller Mark Pinsley defeated Bradley Merkel-Gump54-46, for the Democratic nomination in the Lehigh Valley district. Next up is a duel with the current one Senator Jarrett Coleman in the race we will watch in November.
D-34 (Cumberland/Dauphin/Perry) Personal trainer Nathan Wood defeated Rich Forsman56-44 to win the Democratic nomination. He will replace the current GOP Senator Greg Rothman.
State R-36 (Lancaster). Representative Tom Jones guided Yes, Swarr80-20 to win the GOP nomination in the Lancaster County contest. He will face it Senator James Malone in one of the most essential Senate matchups this fall.
PA House of Representatives Races with Incumbents
On Tuesday evening, Democrats ousted four incumbents, as Representative Ana Tiburcio (D-22), Patrick Catena (D-45), Gregory Vitaly (D-166) i Keith Harris (D-195) all lost their main competition. Republicans lost one incumbent, as Rep. Bud Cook (R-50) was swept away.
D-22 (Lehigh) Rep. Ana Tiburcio’s her stay in Harrisburg will be tiny as an Allentown city councilwoman CeCe Gerlach defeated Tiburcio (56-44) for the Democratic nomination. Gerlach will meet with the Republican Robert Smith in November. Smith lost to Tiburcio in a special election earlier this year.
R-50 (Greene/Washington) Chairman Waynesburg City Council Ben Modest defeated an incumbent Republican Rep. Bud Cook55-45, in a contest in southwestern Pennsylvania. Next up for Humble is a Democrat Lois Bower-Bjornson.
R-91 (Adams) Representative Dan Moul he stopped a pair of challengers from advancing to the November general election, defeating Nick Lovell AND Lindsay Krug with 62% of the votes. McDaniel College Professor Kathleen Pratt he won the Democratic nomination over two other candidates, winning 60% of the vote.
D-166 (Delaware) Looks like after 16 terms in Harrisburg Rep. Greg Vitali the round ended after the Haverford Township commissioner lost Judy Trombetta62-38. He’s betting on the Republicans Joe Walker autumn.
D-195 (Philadelphia) Social Worker Sierra McNeil won an simple victory over the incumbent Keith Harris AND Kenneth Walker with 53% of the votes.
