Bob Harvie The campaign for the 1st Congressional District gained great momentum on Sunday Governor Josh Shapiro formally endorsed Bucks County Commissioner.
The governor has already publicly endorsed the campaigns Bob Brooks in PA-07, Paige Cognetti in PA-08 i Janelle Stelson in PA-10, while Democrats want to regain the majority in the US House of Representatives. His endorsement comes a week before Harvie and Lucia Simonelli they met in the Democratic primary.
“Bob Harvie is a public servant who has dedicated his career to serving his community – from teaching our children to delivering packages to working families throughout Bucks County,” Shapiro said. “I have worked with Bob to get things done for Bucks County – from investing in our schools and law enforcement, to creating jobs and economic opportunity. I know that on Bob’s first vote in Congress, a Democrat will become Speaker of the House and pursue a legislative agenda that will facilitate Pennsylvania and stand up to Donald Trump’s chaos, cruelty and corruption. I am proud to support Bob in this race and know he will be a partner in continuing to facilitate Pennsylvania families in Congress.
Harvie is trying to remove the five-year term Representative Brian Fitzpatrick in the purple district. Shapiro won the district by 20 points in 2022 and was a former vice president Kamala Harris won by 0.3% in 2024.
“It’s an honor to have the support of Governor Shapiro, who knows what it means to actually go above and beyond for the people of Pennsylvania,” Harvie said. “Unlike Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick – who likes to say one thing at home just to agree with Trump and his party bosses in Washington – Governor Shapiro and I know a thing or two about getting real results and fighting for working families. This is one of the most significant congressional races in the entire country, and Bucks and Montgomery voters have a chance to reject Donald Trump, Brian Fitzpatrick, and a broken Washington that pushes the American Dream even further out of reach. I can’t wait to join Governor Shapiro hits the campaign trail and flips this seat in November.
Last week, Shapiro convened Pennsylvania’s Democratic congressional delegation to discuss the importance of winning more and fewer votes in November and the power Pennsylvanians have to flip the U.S. House of Representatives. So far this election cycle, he has invested more than $1.5 million in the labor organizing and party infrastructure the Pennsylvania Democratic Party needs to win elections in November and beyond.
