The leading candidates for the 3rd Congressional District seat are now retiring Representative Dwight Evans will meet at the forum on Monday, February 9, at Church of the Holy Trinity in Rittenhouse Square in Philadelphia.
The event is organized by PoliticsPA in cooperation with ÅšródmieÅ›cie Residents’ Association (CCRA) and sister news site PhillyDaily. The forum starts at 7 p.m. and lasts open to the public.
Thirteen candidates filed their candidacies for the FECincluding the Democratic State Senator Sharif StreetCountry Rep. Chris RabbCountry Representative Morgan CephasDr. Dave OxmanDr. Unfortunately, Stanford, Karl Morris, Cole Carter, NaDera Griffin, Jahmiel Jackson, Pablo McConnie-Saad, Isaiah Martin, Robin Toldensand republican Sheila Armstrong.
The forum is expected to last approximately 90 minutes and will feature candidates who have registered the highest number of available fundraisers and the highest number available in public polls. Moderators include: Ceisler Shapira PagesCCRA Executive Vice President; Dick Polmanveteran national political columnist; AND Steve Ulricheditor-in-chief of PoliticsPA.
The Third District covers several areas of Philadelphia – America’s sixth-largest city – including West Philadelphia, most of downtown and parts of North Philadelphia.
Candidates are vying to replace Evans, who announced his departure from the U.S. House of Representatives after the end of this term. Evans was elected to the position in a 2016 special election after decades as a Pennsylvania state representative.
PoliticsPA and PhillyDaily, both operated by Fideri news networkwill broadcast the event on local news outlets, radio and multimedia platforms. The Pennsylvania cable network (PCN) will also broadcast the forum throughout the Commonwealth.
