HARRISBURG, PA – January 16, 2026 – On Wednesday, January 14, Senator Sharif Street hosted the 2026 Pennsylvania Farm Show forum titled “Affordability” at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex and Expo Center (Erie Room) in Harrisburg.
The forum brought together state and local elected officials, agricultural leaders, economic development professionals and community stakeholders to discuss rising costs impacting food systems, urban agriculture, food insecurity and international agricultural partnerships. The event highlighted strategies to escalate affordability for families while supporting farmers, local economies and global trade opportunities.
Participants were welcomed and emphasized the importance of addressing affordability in Pennsylvania’s food and agricultural systems. Legislative remarks were provided by Rep. Darisha Parker (198th District), who discussed the need for collaborative solutions linking agriculture, health, and economic development.
This year’s forum featured a diverse and distinguished panel of experts representing agriculture, public health, economic development and international trade, including:

“The Pennsylvania Farm Show Forum provides an important space for meaningful conversations about affordability – from ensuring access to healthy food at home to building international partnerships that expand opportunity,” said Senator Sharif Street. “By bringing together diverse voices, we are able to discover solutions that support working families, farmers and communities across the commonwealth.”
The 2026 Pennsylvania Farm Show is free and open to the public. The last day to take part is Saturday, January 17.
