Senator Kearney releases a statement condemning alleged abuse by a local nonprofit leader

MEDIA, PA – November 20, 2025 – The Delaware County District Attorney’s Office recently announced charges against Lawrence (Larry) Arata, executive director of the Opioid Crisis Action Network, for allegedly using his position to victimize vulnerable women.

Following this news, Senator Tim Kearney (D-Delaware) released the following statement:

“I am stunned and deeply disturbed by the allegations against Larry Arata. No one seeking help in recovery should ever be exploited and I stand firmly with the victims who bravely came forward. They deserve compassion, protection and justice. I trust that our local law enforcement will thoroughly investigate this case and work for the justice these victims deserve.”
