HARRISBURG, PA – October 14, 2025 – Now, with the Senate Republican budget impasse now 106 days aged and counting, all twenty-three members of the Pennsylvania Senate Democratic Caucus have signed on to a letter calling on Senate Republicans to call the Senate back into session and pass Senate Bill 160, the budget bill that passed the bipartisan House on Wednesday, October 8.

Senate Democrats were have been sounding the alarm for weeks about the Republican Senate budget impassepaying attention to healthcare workers, schools, day care facilities and others experiencing extreme stress.
After the House passed SB 160, Republican senators packed up and went home without voting on the bill. As stated in the letterSending members home “without a vote is a slap in the face to counties, school districts, social service providers and others who are struggling to get out of this unnecessary, politically motivated gridlock. It is unacceptable.”
Senate Democrats spoke raucous, clear and united: “This is no longer the time to compromise. It is time to end this impasse.”
