Supported by Trump, Jack Ciattarelli easily wins the GOP nomination for New Jersey governor

Jack Ciattarelli, a three -time candidate for the New Jersey governor, won the Republican Tuesday basic Tuesday with the support of President Donald Trump.

Associated Press called the race to a former member of the Congregation at 20:17, just a few minutes after closing the polls in this state. Ciattarelli will now face the representative Miki Sherrill, nominated by a democratic nominated in November.

The 63-year-old Ciattarelli lost the Republican Basic in 2017. He won the nomination in 2021 and reached about three points of the governor Phil Murphy in 2021, a democrat with constrained deadlines.

On Tuesday, he defeated the former conservative radio host Bill Patei, former mayor of Englewood Cliffs Mario Kranjac, performer Justin Barber and senator of state Jon Bramnick, the only critical candidate towards Trump.

Ciattarelli had previously served in the State Assembly for just over six years and lives in Somerville, Somerset. His Kamapign celebrated at Bell Works, Holmdel, Monmouth.

Trump’s support this year gave Ciattarelli an advantage in the race in which the White House played an advantage over the president, who often appears in debates, candidates and talks with voters. Ciattarelli and the fall had a bitter competition throughout the race and often argued about who was more faithful to Trump. Both men were critical of the president in the past.

Ciattarelli moved from being never tracking in 2015 to avoid the topic during his run 2021, trying to reach both moderate and supporters of Trump, to full embrace of the president this time. Trump criticized Ciattarelli last year in the radio program for the fact that he was not looking for support in 2021, but said in his announcement that Ciattarelli “went”. Trump said in the field for Ciattarelli last week that Jersey was “ready to jump out of this blue horror” from Ciattarelli.

In the polls on Tuesday, the Republican voter David Roy, 68, from Woolwich, had a problem with pronouncing the name of Ciattarelli, but said that he voted for him because of Trump’s support.

“I voted for Trump, so voting for this guy made sense,” said Roy, a retired computer engineer. “Trump saved Republicans from extinction.”

Ciattarelli had support from the political agent and former adviser Trump Kellyanne Conway, who was in Trump’s ear about the Ciattarelli campaign and supported the advertising of attack focused on the discredit of the fall.

Ciattarelli said he would finish the State Directive of Trust of Immigrants – known as the policy of state sanctuaries – on the first day of office and threatens the state financing of the cities of the Sanctuary.
